Enjoy the Art, Please Stay Apart
Although the sparkle remains, Lumiere will look a little bit different this year. To maintain safety procedures and ensure physical distancing, we will not be hosting any street performers/musicians or other programming as in previous years.
Lumiere 2020 will focus on beautiful light art pieces that can be enjoyed safely at a distance via a self-guided experience. In order to reduce the risk of COVID transmission, the duration of the event has been extended over the month of November and will be in multiple outdoor locations in the West End.
All of the light pieces this year will not require any hands-on interaction with the exception of Prismatica – an interactive art installation in Jim Deva Plaza. Prismatica will be cleaned regularly throughout the day and a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized once a day. Also, visitors are required to sanitize their hands prior to interacting with the installation.
Lumiere Safety Protocols:
· There will be hand sanitizers available at Jim Deva Plaza to ensure any touchpoints are kept clean and sanitized.
· Prismatica will be sanitized throughout the day to maintain cleanliness and adhere to health regulations.
· Lumiere cannot mandate masks in outdoor public spaces; however, masks are highly encouraged for this event.
· Visitors must keep a 2-metre distance from those outside of their social bubble. We encourage everyone to visit the event with their household bubble of 6 people or less.
· If guests are feeling sick or have recently travelled, they MUST stay home and not attend the event.
We are excited to be able to bring a little bit of cheer and light to the West End this year. Please help us keep our community safe by following the rules and enjoying yourself safely.
