Volunteer With Us

Volunteering at the Lumiere Festival is a fantastic way to get involved in your community, help create memorable experiences for attendees, and meet new people while gaining valuable skills. Whether you’re passionate about arts and culture, enjoy working with people, or simply want to give back to your community, there’s a role for you! Volunteers are a critical part of our success, and we couldn’t do it without you.

If you’re interested in helping the Lumiere Festival team transform downtown Vancouver into a radiant canvas of light, art and entertainment, please complete the volunteer application form as a first step.

Volunteer Roles

  • Event Setup & Strike: Assist with the installation of event signage and infrastructure. Help ensure everything is in place before the festival and assist with dismantling after the event.
  • Guest Experience: Serve as a guide for festival-goers by welcoming visitors, offering information about the artworks, providing directions, and enhancing the overall visitor experience by being a friendly and knowledgeable presence.
  • Crowd Counting & Management: Our data-collecting team makes a HUGE impact. This team roves the festival or is stationed at specific locations to count attendees throughout the evening. Volunteers may also help direct the flow of visitors, monitor entry points, and ensure that everyone enjoys the festival safely and smoothly.
  • Workshop Support: Our interactive, family-friendly workshops allow spectators to actively participate in the festival through lantern making, bike decorating etc. Volunteers are needed to support with set up, take down, distribution of supplies and to ensure a fun and safe environment for our younger attendees.
